Vampire

QUICK ! GET DOWN !

...shhhhhhhh !!!
...don't talk.
...just listen.

hear that ?
Creepy Alexander Crenshaw has 'escaped' from his graveyard crypt again. It seems like no matter how many times we drive a stake through his heart, throw holy water on him, spread purified salt around his coffin, or even leaving silver mirrors and hanging garlic inside his tomb...he always finds a way to come back and chase the residents around.

I still say we gotta decapitate him, burn the body, and spread the ashes over the Kalamazoo river. But NOOOOOOO. The priests don't wanna desicrate a human body. Pfffft !!!
Those silly knuckleheads just get in the way.
*sigh*

I need more sleep. Now what was that quote...?

"...the nethermost caverns are not for the fathoming of eyes that see; for their marvels are strange and terrific. Cursed the ground where dead thoughts live new and oddly bodied, and evil the mind that is held by no head. Wisely did Ibn Schacabao say, that happy is the town where no Wizard hath lain, and happy the town at night whose Wizards are all ashes. For it is of old rumour that the soul of the Devil-bought hastes not from his Charnel Clay, but Fats and instructs The Very Worm That Gnaws; till out of corruption horrid Life springs, and the dull scavengers of Earth wax crafty to vex it and swell monstrous to plague it.

Great holes secretly are digged where Earth's pores ought to suffice, and things have learnt to Walk that ought to Crawl..."

NECRONOMICON -from the Olaus Wormius Latin translation of Alhazred's AL-AZIF

Does the stick have to be a specific type of wood, Isay? I've also heard about placing salt into a corpses mouth to prevent it from becoming a zombie.

Gruesome fun !
:-D

Thanx, Secret Creatures ! I still try to do fine line ink work now and then.

Well that is really cool. The only vampires I care for live on BTVS and are blond and blue eyed. Therefore, how about I mail you a stack? Or you could chop his head off or set him on fire. Those are the only ways to kill a vampire. I know - take if from someone who can recite the dialog on Buffy. Seriously (yes very) this is a really great drawing. The perspective, everything. Very nice indeed. And this is not spam.

You've done it again, Steve...I especailly enjoyed the quote at the end with it's aged colloquialist rhyme and meter.

I don't know what's more frightening...those fangs or the view up his nose! One thing I do know...I would definitely want to escape him. Nice work here. I get the feeling of a low flying stealth bomber...the perspective creates a real sense of menance. I always enjoy the stories you include:>

A hole in the tapestry of the universe was opened and you had to let this guy in! It reminds me in a way of the Langoliers (S.King) Chewed their way through the firmament and beyond. You have a knack for mixing the wierd with the commonplace... is that a button down shirt?

Hey, Vampires need some love too! Expect for the Spam Vampires. Rip their hearts out & feed them to the volves! (Accent implied)

Well, Janey, my favorite vampires were from the movie 'The Lost Boys'. But I gotta agree, Buffy's vampires were pretty kewl at times too!

But I'm more of a 'Xena' fan than a 'Buffy' fan, but I also like 'Farscape' and 'Inuyasha'.

...and thanx for not being a spammer, Janey!
:-D

Hi Sarah !
Rocket Corpse? I like it ! Great term! I've gotta use that one of these days...heh heh heh!
:-D

Y'know, Mick, that's actually from a Howard Phillips Lovecraft story (I think), but I can't remember which one it was (I wrote the quote down cause it was so kewl). I'm strange like that...

But thanx for the props anyway!
:-)

That protruding proboscis rilly is kinda prominent, isn't it, Carla! Watch out for nasal maggots!
I'm glad you mentioned the stealth bomber concept, I wanted to convey a sense of fast approaching danger that you don't detect until it is too late.

Glad you liked the story too...there may be some truth to it...
:-D

Sometimes reality unravelles and comes undone, Ginger, and then I gotta clean up the mess afterward. Vampires are soooooo unsanitary!

I remember th' Langoliers! They kinda looked like giant Pac-Men with sharp rotating teeth. Very eerie!
Yeah, I've been heavily influence by Howard Phillips Lovecraft and his old horror stories, he combined the strange and the ordinary all the time.

And as for the vampires clothes, he's kinda old fashioned, and enjoys wearing outdated formal wear...
:-)

Vampires also need industrial strength deoderant, Tony. Except the spam vampires, they need an ass-whuppin!

Here comes the volves...I mean wolves!
:-D

Yeah, I have gotten a lil' tired of the romantic view of Vampires our culture has developed, Miss Daze. Necrophilia is dead, man! Ugly is in! Spam-mail is evil.

And Government Intelligence is an Oxymoron...
:-D

This particular vampire looks like he was shot out of a cannon! *G*

Spike (from tv's Angel which in turn was a Buffy spinoff) was burnt to the tiniest of ash particles. However one powerfully evil spell was able to bring him back to life, so anything you do to kill off this guy should be capped off with a spell to keep him dead. *G*

At 9:44 AM, Blogger steve said...

Thanx for the good advise, Aravis! I'll keep a spell or two in reserve, just in case...
:-D
