Fancy Footwork

This weeks Illustration Friday challenge is 'Dance'.
A few weeks back while shopping at Meijer supermarket in Kalamazoo, I saw the most difficult and adorable two step ever. Two little girls had put on an oversized tee-shirt and were trying to walk down the cashier aisle much to the bemusement of their mother.

For a moment, everyone in the vicinity who could see it suddenly forgot all about their worries and troubles, smiles were on shoppers faces.
I luv moments like that.
Have a smile on me, it won't cost you a single penny...

Children seem to have a better link to pure joy and seizing the day, Carra. That's why it is so important to always keep the child inside yourself alive and happy.

In fact, I think I will now have some ice cream, care to join me...?
:-D

Full of fun, full of life and such a wonderful thing to have witnessed.
I just came from the supermarket where the mother of 4 little ones was desperately trying to contain them as they kept putting things in the shopping cart. Finally from about 3 aisles over I heard a weary voice saying...."Who put these pies in here?"

Shopping is fun!

Of course Mother has to pay for all the groceries, so she would feel a lil' angst about what goes into the basket. But the kids only care about the bright packages and sugary goodness (badness?) within each box of goodies.

Were we so different when we were little, Ginger ?
Heck, I STILL want candy !
Let's run in the aisles ! Wheeeeeeeeeeee !!!
:-D

I love little moments like that. Kids sometimes have a knack for transporting you out of the humdrum. Your rendering of it is adorable. Very manga.

This is funny and I love true events depicted in a theme. Your fine artwork really brings out the kiddish, carefree attitude in these two little girls. Love this!

Hey!

thanks for your comment.
I really liked your cartoon-ish illustrations and sketches. drawing a woman dancing was too obvious for me to illustrate this week´s topic, but you overcame that common place thing so well - with 2 girls!

Manga has a wonderful sense of simplicity, RozFoster. That's why I tend to use th' style so much. And yes, kids are quite good at having a sense of adventure !

I'll keep my eyes open for more memorable events, HardWax. The problem is that when you try to seek such moments they never seem to materialize, but when you are least expecting it they just pop up !
Life is funny, laugh along with it...

Kinda reminds you of those old 'DoubleMint' Gum commercials when they used twins, doesn't it Blumpi!
I almost gave up on this theme until remembering that shopping trip!
