IllustrationFriday "Bloom"
I decided to do some heavy ink work for this entry in Illustraton Friday. It took some time but it was worth it. A lil' scary, a lil' lovely. Makes me think of halloween and spring all at once ! Nuff said.

I agree, the curves are great. Very nice!
Thanx Ms Elle and Lori-Lyn ! I wanted to avoid sharp edges with this illustration.
like the penwork.. reminds me of Hexxus from Ferngully (animated movie)..sorry Im a cartoon nut. - so just imagine that tree had the voice of Tim Curry!!!lol
Rebecca, I also luv Ferngully ( red light ! green light !) And Tim Curry is a god ! He played Darkness in the movie Legend. ( Yes, that was him under all that latex and makeup ! ) Fun stuff !
Thanks! Love your style and blooming tree!
ooh, I like. Any not only can your draw, but your psychic - I started carving a stamp last night. And your bloom would make a great stamp.
It's a little WOW to me. A lot WOW. This are the kind of art I see in my head. Now to just translate them to paper. Awesome work!

Ooh, that is so beautiful. It looks so full of life, just like spring. :) Awsome.
Thank you Bertha and Jenny M ! A few influences for me over the years were Rankin/Bass's Tolkien animated movies and Charles Vess. There have been many more but I don't have room and I doubt you have the time. See ya next Illustration Friday !
It looks like the tree is dancing in some groovie 60's/70's cartoon. Cheers.
I'll bust out some Beetles LP's and we can all boogie wit' tha tree ! Thanks Tony !
Breathe it in sweetie ! Thanks ISHD !
I like this, a lot! It would be awesome with color!
Thanks Kelly ! Maybe someday I'll re-open it in photoshop and add some magic. :-)
